The Girl's Guide to Homelessness: A Memoir by Brianna Karp

This book was rather interesting and thought provoking. So the basis of the book is that a woman had a rather good career until the recession hit. At this time she found herself out of a job, unable to find a new job, and quickly running through her savings. Throw in a bit of crazy family issues and Brianna finds herself, oh and her rather large Neapolitan Mastiff, in the situation of being homeless. She applied to jobs almost daily. She started keeping a blog with regards to the life she has found herself in. A guy who has turned homelessness into a career of sorts lives in Scotland and took an interest in Brianna's blog. He helps her to establish her blog and establish a way to gain some revenue. He also became a love interest.

Brianna went through some very terrible events throughout the book. I was in awe of some things, disgusted with myself and the stereotyping I've done in the past, and so angry with the humanity of some people. The fact that this book is a memoir made it all the more intense. It's really a well written book that makes you think about all manner of issues.

Enjoy!
